Friday, August 9th, 2019: High-5s for O'Reilly! Goes 5-5!
Whit O'Reilly really did a number on the Surprise in the Lansing 6-5 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Whit O'Reilly did just that today for the Lugnuts and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.

"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 20-year-old left fielder said after his record-setting performance.

W. O'Reilly singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This year O'Reilly has hit at a .341 clip with 32 RBIs, 1 home run and 46 runs scored.
Monday, July 29th, 2019: Player of the Week Trophy to Hernandez
This week Johnson League pitching was a feast fit for a king and Dario Hernandez really made the most of it -- ripping them royally. The talented Pearl Harbor hitting machine produced a sizzling .500 batting average, no home runs, 13 hits in 26 at-bats, 11 RBIs and 6 runs.

That kind of hitting earned him the JL Player of the Week honors.

Currently Hernandez is batting .332 with 3 home runs and 59 RBIs.
Tuesday, July 9th, 2019: 5-5 Day for Fajardo
Indianapolis third baseman Van Fajardo could do no wrong in today's 10-9 win over the Surprise as he collected 5 hits.

"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor...he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Surprise said to the press corps after the game.

Fajardo agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

V. Fajardo hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

So far in 2019 Fajardo has hit .289 with 3 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 79 games and scored 34 times.
